Friends of the Wellman Public Library

Who We Are

The Friends of the Wellman Public Library is a non-profit organization of individuals, families, and businesses who are dedicated to supporting the library. We welcome book lovers, information seekers, readers, listeners, and thinkers of all ages, who treasure ideas and value the public library as a vital community resource. Financial support from the Friends enhances the library experience for children, teens, families and adults. The Friends generate revenue through membership fees, book sales, and other fundraising activities. These funds are used to supplement special programs, events, and celebrations not funded by the Library’s general operating budget.

What We Do

• Fundraising with Book Sales and Trivia Night to financially support the library
• Donating funds for projects not included in the library budget
• Advocating for the library throughout the community
• Annual member meeting open to all voting members. Executive board meets quarterly. Planning via committees as needed throughout the year.

Five Reasons to Join Friends of the Wellman Public Library

1) Encourage Literacy. The library's annual Summer Reading Program keeps all ages engaged in reading over the summer months, helping youths avoid the "summer slide." The Friends of the Wellman Public Library supports this program each year.

5) Share Your Library Love. Get to know your community and bond over your shared love for the Wellman Public Library. We will work together to advocate for the library and ensure all residents of Wellman and the surrounding areas are familiar with the services available for them at the library.
