Help bring Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to Wellman
As the Local Program Partners, the Friends of the Wellman Public Library are responsible for securing funds to cover book costs Books are 100% free to enrolled children because their Local Program Partner has secured funds to cover the cost of the books and the shipping fees. Our local estimated yearly cost is roughly $3,000 per year.
To help bring this fantastic program to as many local children as possible, we are asking for donations from local businesses and individuals.

How It Works
Each month, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library mails a high-quality, age-appropriate book to all registered children, addressed to them, at no cost to the child’s family. Countless parents have shared how excited their child is when their new book arrives each month. Many groups and individuals work hard behind the scenes to make that special moment possible for each child.
What Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Does
- Covers all overhead and admin expenses at no cost to Local Program Partners
- Provides Book Order System database and support
- Coordinates Blue Ribbon Book Selection Committee
- Coordinates monthly book order and fulfillment
Friends of the Wellman Public Library as a Local Partner
- Partners with the library to enroll local children ages 0-5 years in selected coverage area
- Pays $2.60 per child per month towards wholesale books and mailing costs on average
- Promotes program locally to drive enrollment and/or funding
