Today is National Library Workers Day. Librarians work hard to provide the community with not only great books, but wonderful programming and resources. Be sure to stop in the library today and say “Hi!” to our librarians.
We love libraries every week of the year, but this week we are celebrating National Library Week. Each year we host classes from Wellman Elementary to teach them all about what we have at the library and encourage their love of reading. We love it and look forward to it each year!
Be sure to stop by the library this week and celebrate with us!!
The city of Wellman’s annual Easter Egg Hunt is coming up. Be sure to join in the fun!
Fun Fact: Today is National Freedom of Information Day.
“Freedom of Information (FOI) Day is an annual event on or near March 16, the birthday of James Madison, who is widely regarded as the Father of the Constitution and as the foremost advocate for openness in government.
Each year, the James Madison Award and the Eileen Cooke State & Local Madison Award are presented by the American Library Association on Freedom of Information Day to recognize those individuals or groups that have championed, protected, and promoted public access to government information and the public’s right to know.

We librarians are no masters of romance and matchmaking for people isn’t our thing, but we can definitely match you with a great book!
Are you tired of reading the same style book? Feel like you’re stuck in a rut and looking for something new? Come into the library in February and try a blind date with a book!
Starting February 1 until Valentines’, check out our display and pick your blind date.
Don’t forget to join us for a reception celebrating our patrons who took on our “Read 100 Book Challenge” we set last year. We appreciate everyone who tried our challenge! Whether you hit your goal or not, join us for refreshments this evening from 5:00-6:00 at the library!
