Be smart about money!

Every parent is eager to have their child learn about money and money management. It is never too early to begin learning important financial lessons which instill good habits and smart choices. We have added several new books to our collection to help encourage children to save and spend wisely.

One Cent, Two Cents, Old Cent, New Cent by Bonnie Worth

Berenstain Bears’ Dollars and Sense by Stan & Jan Berenstain

Just saving my money by Mercer Mayer

The Penny pot by Stuart J. Murphy

Curious George saves his pennies

Bunny Money by Rosemary Wells

Lemonade in winter by Emily Jenkins

For fun I have collected a PINT jar of pennies. If children would like to guess how many are in the jar, please send me their guess at scofield.netins.net. Guess coming closest to the actual number will receive all the pennies in the jar!

Online Resources

The library has many online resources available to our patrons while our doors are closed. You can head over to our online resources page and check them our for yourself. Or you can follow along each day as we highlight a different resource and tell you about how it might benefit your life.

We are going to start with a little bit about Gale Resources. Gale has a multitude of different programs to utilize. From Chilton Library, which offers extensive information on auto repairs, to Health and Medicine, where you can find reliable health information. You can go to our Gale Resources page and browse all 42 different resources now. This all is completely free and made available to you as a library patron. There are programs for kids and adults and everyone in between. We recommend that you take the next few minutes just to look through what Gale offers and see if there is anything there that could enrich your life (we bet there is!)
