Online Resource: Southeast Iowa Digital Archive

Do you remember when you used to have to visit the library and search through hours of microfiche to find any old newspaper article? Well, times have changed and you now have over a hundred years of local newspaper archives at your fingertips! A few years ago 13 communities partnered with the Washington Country River Boar Foundation and the Brighton Educational Trust to fund a project that took thousands of microfiche, digitized it and put it all in one place. Collectively saving our local history and opening access to is for anyone with a computer or smart phone. To use the archive you just need to search for a name, event, or phrase. You can refine your search by looking through specific newspapers or dates. Its a really simple system and we hope that you enjoy it. Click over to our Online Resources page to check it out today!
