We have wrapped up our Summer Reading Program for this year! What a fun year! The Outer Space theme provided us with some really great programs ideas! This past week we had our Virtual Reality in Space program with Frank Slabaugh from Mid-Prairie School District. Mr. Slabaugh brought virtual reality head sets for the kids and took them on a guided space journey. We learned about planets and space travel. We also had a Barbie Birthday party to celebrate Barbie turning 60 this year! We played party games and decorated our own cupcakes. We ended the party with a really silly Barbie freeze dance game.
Every year we end the Summer Reading program by having a picnic in the park with our participants. Federation Bank is kind enough to grill hot dogs and hamburgers for us and everyone brings a side dish to share. The city of Wellman and Teresa Lampe bring the snow cone machine and everyone gets a treat as well!
We’ve still got a few fun programs for you all before school starts. Stop by the library and watch Wonder Park on Monday at 1:30 PM, come play a NERF target challenge on August 8th @ 1:30 PM, and be on the look out for our Back to School Skate Party! Have a great weekend!
