I recently came across a blog post about a family who took a tour of libraries around the world with their children! This sounds like an incredible vacation idea and I would love to try it someday. But while world travel isn’t always an option, there are many libraries not far from home to explore. Did you know that in the state of Iowa, you can get an Open Access library card at over 600 libraries in the state of Iowa? For more information on the Open Access Program, check out the State Library of Iowa’s website HERE. Or you can always just visit a library and not check anything out. Librarians are typically happy to see new faces come in the door. Let them know that you are doing a local library tour and maybe they will have some great information for you! One of our favorites to visit is the State Law Library located in the state capitol building in Des Moines. There are so many other great libraries to explore!! Have fun!!
